I prefer to think of myself as a creative explorer and experimenter, in music and lifestyle.
On a more serious note,
I’m now an old dude. In the 1980s when I was still in my early 30’s and doing my post-doc in Akron U, I bought a book “Life Extension Companion” by Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw. That got me hooked. Even earlier, I read a book about fasting by a doctor (name?) who treated Hollywood celebrities. I tried water fasting for three days when I got sick.
Over the years (life interfering in between) I was experimenting on myself with mega-dosing vitamin C and what not.
Once, on my yearly check up my physician told me he didn’t understand why my analyses are getting better with time. I didn’t comment.
Born-To-Music is an ongoing experiment on myself (on and sometimes off) I started 45 years ago. I’ll be writing here on my past and present experiences and on the latest research into longevity that is relevant to my search for immortality (he-he).
Having a background in chemistry helps me to navigate the medical literature, from which I’m picking hints on how to improve my life.
There are a lot of research publications, often contradictory, which is understandable. Many research articles are exploratory, with no practical applications today. While I like to read these, I place more emphasis on those that are more relevant to my daily life. Hopefully others may benefit from my experience.
How did I come about creating this site?
For years I’ve been buying and trying out various food supplements from the USA, which are not available here in Israel. Last October I’ve ordered a larger than usual package, which included 5 KG of glycine, that I take daily. Unknowingly I’ve triggered an alarm in the customs. They decided I’m a glycine dealer. To release my glycine from the customs I had to become a registered importer approved by the Israel’s health ministry. So, as of today I’m a Glycine and Supplements Authorized Dealer in Israel! I keep them in stock, and I’m setting up the e-commerce site. Until then you can leave me a note in the comments section if you want some of them.
My other interest is music. It was always in my life. I played violin as a child, aspiring to become David Oistrakh without much success. Not enough patience and manual dexterity. Listened to Beethoven, Bach, Liszt, Mendelsohn, and later The Beatles, The Kinks, etc. Lately tried composing music and poetry – that is an ongoing project. Trying to keep my brain occupied.
